About Felisha

With more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of higher education, social work, and institutional strategy, I founded Resilience + Hope Consulting on a simple belief: when institutions are built to work well, the people they serve thrive.

My Journey

My career began not in a dean’s office or an enrollment management suite — it began in social work. That foundation shaped everything. Social work taught me to see systems clearly, identify where they break down, and advocate for those navigating their complexity. Higher education became the setting where I could apply those skills at scale.

Over the course of my career at Georgia State University, one of the nation’s most recognized institutions for closing equity gaps, I led transformational work across student affairs, enrollment management, academic program development, and technology implementation. I helped drive initiatives that contributed to historic increases in graduation rates, represented my college on university-wide implementation teams for systems like EAB Navigate (now Navigate360) and Ellucian Degree Works while leading their college-level rollout, and guided the successful launch of 14 new academic programs.

My commitment to equity extends beyond higher education. Having served as a caregiver for my mother, I understand firsthand what student caregivers carry — which is why I serve as a volunteer with Call for Caring, Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting caregivers in the Atlanta community, and co-chair the Atlanta CareNet, an initiative affiliated with the Atlanta Regional Commission focused on caregiver awareness and support across the region.

This experience directly informs the student caregiver services I bring to colleges and universities. Student caregivers are one of the most underidentified and underserved populations in higher education, and my community work keeps me grounded in the real lives behind the data.

The Work

For more than 20 years, I led student success and operational initiatives at Georgia State University. I’ve seen firsthand the practices, systems, and leadership needed to help institutions become places where all students can succeed. I’ve also served as an expert advisor with GLG for nearly a decade, providing insights to investment firms and consultancies on higher education transformation.

A Personal Note

The name Resilience + Hope is personal. The cardinal in our logo represents hope, renewal, and resilience — and it carries a deeper meaning for me. Since the passing of my father, an entrepreneur himself, cardinals have been a meaningful and comforting presence in my life. This business honors his legacy and the belief he instilled in me: that with resilience and hope, anything is possible.

I bring something rare to this work — I’ve sat in the seats of the people I now serve. I know what it feels like to lead through institutional change, to advocate for students when systems aren’t working, and to build something new from the inside out. That experience is not theoretical. It is what I help institutions build for the students in their care.
